FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). It employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to it or directly toll owner. NHAI has rolled out program for Electronic Toll Collection on Toll Plazas on National Highways to be called FASTag
FASTag works by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. FASTag is affixed to the windscreen of the vehicle and the vehicle can be driven through the toll plazas without making a stopover for transactions. The tag is made available for purchase from the participating banks or official Tag issuers.
